Image of Snow in Summer
Cerastium tomentosum

Carpet plant. Leaves are linear lance-shaped, white or silver-wolly, and about 1-3cm long. Flowers are star-shaped, white in colour and measure about 2.5cm across. These are borne in late spring and summer. The whole plant grows to about 5-8cm tall and it spreads so the width is indefinite. The soil must be kept moist for proper germination but once the plant is established, it is very drought tolerant.
