Low growing plant. The leaves are linear and are silvery-green in colour due to the presence of hairs underneath. Leaves are roughly 2.5cm long. Flowers are produced singly at the ends of the stems and are roughly 2-4cm in diameter with yellow centres surrounded by white bracts. Flowering occurs between spring and autumn, the flowers are long lasting. Chrysocephalum baxteri is roughly 0.3m tall and 0.3m wide.
